NEKO TORI'S LOCK
This all happened during an age about three hundred years ago when human started making complex machines of metal and steam, giving them lives of their own so they could serve people. Many strange creatures were created in this time but the women and men were too busy doing their own thing to notice. But I noticed and watched over these creatures and still do. Though to you or any other or any other I may seem just a mere child to my creatures I am a god. I give them a name, a body and a purpose this world of metal and steam.  And they know it; they know I am "The Observer".
One day I came across a Kagi, (known to you as a key) who is very special and has an amazing story to tell.
Neko Tori was creature with the head like that of the top of the key but with ears so that his appearance resembled a cat. He also had a set of sheet metal plated wings. But most importantly Neko had two tails which could open locks. This was important because in Kagi society your power and status is determined by the size of your lock (home).
So when Neko was found there was much rejoicing among the Kagi for a creature who could open and therefore own two locks would be the most powerful Kagi. The Kagi's dream as a race was to be noticed and recognised by all humans and never thrown away again. They also believed that because of Neko the humans would notice them.
But unfortunately for the Kagi there was a major flaw in their plans… Neko Tori was yet to find either of his locks. This placed him lower than even those with the smallest of locks. This meant that even his fellow Kagi had no reason to notice him, let alone humans. He was lost. He had no home. He was a key without a lock.
~
Neko Tori had spent much time searching desperately for at least one of his locks so that he could fulfil the hopes and dreams of his people, but to no avail. He had no help from the other Kagi because they mostly ignored him because he had failed them and Neko was too shy to even ask. There was now only one option left to Neko Tori.
He must visit the Observer and ask to be shown his lock, something many others would have been too scared to do because it was great show of power to go crying to a god for help and would cost you your pride but Neko did and he asked the Observer": "My god, Will you, oh great watcher of all, show me both my locks so that I may fulfil the purpose you gave me? So that the humans will respect us.  " Neko Tori creature of two tails," Replied the Observer "Are you really so caught up in impressing those around you that you think your purpose is to impress humans!? Neko, I will tell you this: soon a time will come when humans are so sad and angry they will stop making things of metal and steam and many Kagi will become lost. This is why I gave you two locks so that there will be a place for any lost Kagi to call home. Neko, your purpose is to help your people in a time of need, not impress them. When you leave me, there will be two locks waiting for you. Her name is "The Nest". Treat her well."
With that a now enlightened Neko Tori left the Observer and found two locks awaiting him. Extending both he's tails he opened the locks, as he entered he was greeted by voice like wind chimes "Welcome Neko. I am the Nest. Within me you and any other Kagi will be safe" Thanking the Nest, Neko looked around him, the Nest was very large but instead of thinking about the fame and fortune he would receive Neko began to feel brave as he knew he would soon hold the fate of many Kagi in his hands. Then the Nest spoke to him again "While you were with the Observer the humans in their sadness and anger started fighting each other and many locks have been lost." Her voice was sad because she had known many of the locks who were now gone.
Neko left the Nest scared and shy again at the knowledge that his time had come to fulfil his purpose. Outside he was met by a small metallic curved creature with large scared eyes whom he recognised as a Kagi with a small lock he had sometimes stayed with " Vespas?" Neko asked "Yes, It is I" she replied " Thank the Observer you have found your lock.!" "Her name is the Nest." He interrupted remembering what the Observer had told him. "Neko Tori will you help us?" she continued, not caring "Many including me have just lost our locks. But you have room to help us, Will you?" She pleaded. "Yes" He had once been lost and he wished that no other Kagi would have to suffer like he did.
So Neko Tori left then calling all lost Kagi to come and find a home with him. And even to this day many Kagi live in the Nest with Neko Tori including Vespas the first Kagi to turn to him for help. So when you take a break from doing your own thing check the edges of your vision and if you see a creature that is lost go up to them and say "Go to Neko Tori" and you can be assured you will always be remembered. So Neko Tori fulfilled his purpose and helped his people in a time of need.
A another story I've already posted but some of dont have the software to read PDFs. Read the description on the other one (I can't be bothered writing it agian) written for school art assignment. I know it needs alot of editing...
